Unless you're letting your baby drive when you go travelling together, there is no need to stress out.

Unless you’re letting your baby drive when you go travelling together, there is no need to stress out.

Having a newborn baby in the house is enough of a culture shock for many new moms, so preparing your baby for a day outside the house the first few times can be a bit unnerving. You want to be safe, you want to triple check that everything is planned accordingly.

The reason most new parents feel stressed about taking their baby out the first time is that they are not used to planning ahead so diligently. But Doing so will save time, stress and money for the whole family.

You have a baby now, so your entire routine going to change, especially when you are on the go. You can’t just pop into a restaurant on a whim without the appropriate food on hand for your child. And be prepared to get stares and sneers from fellow diners if your child is in a bratty mood.

If you have a young baby, then obviously milk or formula is necessary fine, but for an older baby that has already become accustomed to solid foods, you’ll need to carry a few extra things with you.

You will need a durable, insulated bag to store cold milk and formula in. Baby bottles with disposable liners are ideal…it really helps when you need to clean up on the go.

If you’re still breast-feeding and plan on being away from home for more than a day, then bring a breast pump with you. You will want to extract breast milk in the overnight while the baby sleeps. This way you will have fresh bottled breast milk for the whole day.

Traveling on a plane is something that needs extra attention and preparation. The changes in altitude can be hard to bear for many babies. Scheduling feedings before you get on the plane ensures they get their daily nutrients without a problem. You don’t want to get caught 30,000 feet in the air stressing over your hungry baby and struggling to feed the baby.

Keeping the baby strapped in properly and safe on a plane is another major concern. There is a very handy and sturdy child aviation restraint system approved by the airlines and the FAA. In fact it is the ONLY child travel safety device that is APPROVED by the FAA. It’s called CARES and ensures the safest environment for your child on a plane. You can check it out here. It is currently $74.95 direct from the company, and it’s well worth it if you plan on flying with your child.

You can also get it for a better price at Amazon for $71 with FREE shipping (CARES Child Aviation Restraint System).
